Overhead Line Engineering Construction 3 – OLEC 3 Base Module

The course requires at least 2 candidates and can hold a maximum of 8, the course duration is 3 days and the candidates are required to have the following:

Pre-Requisites and requirements

Valid Medical
Valid Drugs & Alcohol
Provide sufficient evidence of undertaking a range of basic OLE Construction activities
Sentinel Card
Emergency Fist Aid, Working at Heights, Safety Harness and Manual Handling
Hi visibility clothing (BS EN 471:2003 class 3 dry / BS EN 343:2003 class 3 wet)
Hard Hat (BS EN397:1995)
Safety Boots (BS EN ISO20345:2004)
Gloves (EN388:2003)
Safety Goggles (BS EN 166 B)
Ear Defenders (BS EN 352-1)

Candidate will receive training on how to effectively carry out construction, renewal, enhancement and modification of Overhead Line Equipment correctly following design drawings and specifications.

Post Training

On successful completion of the OLEC 3 Base Module candidates will be undertake further mentorship on site to develop the knowledge and experience they have gained and will then go on to undertake onsite assessments in each of the 6 elements  for them to be awarded.
