ISS Labour workers recently played an integral part in supporting Network Rail on their Great North Rail project which has been undertaken to transform rail travel in the north of England. Network Rail have stated the project is “part of their plan to stimulate economic growth in the north of England through better connections between towns and cities”. Our staff helped to complete the £8.6m track renewal project at the Southern and of Newcastle station on Sunday 14th January after a nine day blockade replacing 19 sets of switches and crossings. Colin Kelly OLE Director for ISS Labour said “we are proud to have been part of this prestigious project and I would like to thank all ISS Labour staff involved in the blockade for their hard work which was delivered to the highest of standards”.
The following video link demonstrates some of the essential works undertaken as part of this scheme.
